Whirlwind. A word with two definitions; One, something that happens very quickly, or a rapid succession of events and two, something that has a terrible destructive force. Alyssa had been caught in one for the last couple of months. She’d gone from being the girl with nothing to a girl who seemed to have everything her heart could desire. She had a family, she had friends and she had possibly the most amazing boyfriend in the whole wide world. Since Evie’s dad had died, their relationship had gone on waves and strides. Okay so maybe a funeral wasn’t the MOST conventional place to hook up but it had worked for them. They’d planned on taking it slow but things had taken on a form of their own and just kept putting them in situations that pulled them closer to one another. Alyssa spent more time at Spencer’s place than her own and she’d honestly fallen in love with him.
Being who she was and having lived through her life, it was hard for her to say those three little words. I love you. Every night they spent together as she laid in his arms she’d wanted to say something but she was so worried of scaring him off that she hadn’t said anything but she did love him. She loved everything about him. It was Thursday evening and Thursday for Spencer and Alyssa meant one thing.. Date night. It was the only evening Spencer didn’t have to train with his watcher so they always did something just the two of them. Alyssa had told Spencer to meet her in the park and had a plan. She’d bribed Evie into making a picnic up because everyone including Spencer knew that she shouldn’t cook. He hadn’t known that until he’d come home to find that her and Lisa had nearly burned down his kitchen.
It had been cold out but the day had been crisp and dry which was something rare for the great british weather. Alyssa had got ready to meet Spencer and headed towards the park. Setting everything up in a little secluded hidden spot behind the tree’s. She had candles and food as well as blankets and pillows and it really did look like a little love nest. She’d then headed across the park to where she had said she’d meet Spencer. Everything was a surprise, she’d just given him the impression they’d go for a little walk. She settled herself on a bench, smoothing her clothes down and waited.
