As the two gossiped and settled in the food court, Steve couldn't help but feel almost excited to have someone to talk normally with him. Most of the time, he was alone and couldn't share any of his thoughts or anything with anyone. Of course, part of that had to do with the fact that he didn't want to freak anyone out. Although its not in his nature to want to hurt anything or anyone, the beast inside was unpredictable, yet still it was only savage to those who were after him or causing him trouble, he wasn't sure how his lycan side acted when he was around people he liked or cared for.
Steven nodded slightly, to show that he understood what Lisa was up to and that it wasn't a bad thing to browse around to pass the time by. His eyes couldn't help but catch the fading bruises on the girl's face and once again, he had a slightly bigger grin on his face as he could tell that she was shying away from explaining the marks, which he understood. "Yeah, there's nothing wrong with checking out the sales once in a while...but like I said, I'm not an avid shopper...I'd rather lounge around and read or listen to music all day." He said with a chuckle.
As Lisa answered his question about where she was from, Steve sat back and nodded. "I see, so you're probably a lot more familiar with this place than I am, well...at least thats what I would understand." He said lowly. "How far north is that from here then?" Steven asked, not really knowing why he asked, except for the simple reason of wanting to prolong the conversation and spend more time with Lisa, he really did enjoy sitting around and speaking with her, as she seemed like an interesting girl and one who didn't care about what other people thought about her, or on the flipside, one that could probably accept him for who he was.
"Hmm, working out isn't a bad one...I'm a sports junkie honestly, I used to play baseball in high school, and soccer in college...so I don't mind running or anything of that sort myself." Steven responded as she asked about his hobbies. "Also, just like I said, I don't mind reading and looking things up...fiction, non-fiction...whatever, as long as I can find interest in it, I'll read it." He said with a small shrug. "Aww man, don't mention the computer, I could stay on that thing all of the time..."
Just as Lisa had asked of Steven's business in London, the order number for their lunch was called out and Steven stood up slowly. "Hold that thought..." He said with a small grin, moving over to pick up the tray of food. As he sat back down, Steven passed Lisa her Hamburger and then went back to answering her question at hand. "Well, I just needed a change of scenery, I was going nuts in California and figured things would be better here, so I'm honestly here to stay, mind you, I'm still looking for a decent job and place to stay...I never thought it'd be this much of a challenge, but it'll work itself out eventually." He said with a small sigh, before taking a bite of his sandwich, which was cooked Medium Rare, which most werewolves would consider overcooked.
"Whats your story? A good looking woman like yourself in a hectic city like this?" He asked with a sly grin, placing his elbow on the table and putting his head in his hand. "I mean only if you feel like talking about that, I don't mean to push into anything too personal."((Sorry about taking forever on this one, I just got settled in for good, and will have more time to reply to things now that I finished my undergrad XD, I hope you still wanna continue, I like these two...))

This has gone on so long I realize that I need, Something good to rely on... Lisa smiled awkwardly and brushed her hair over her face as she tried to hide the marks Steven was so obviously intrigued by. As he went on speaking she moved her hair again so that she gave eye contact and could show that she was interested in what he had to say. She was enjoying talking to him; it was as though he was giving her a strong sense of normality, like she was a normal girl without a care in the world other than what this guy thought about her. Steven told her that he would rather lounge around and listen to music all day and Lisa felt exactly the same, well she did like shopping but nothing could beat a lazy day with some good tunes blaring out.
“It’s just under a 4 hour drive not too far really but when you have no car or money it’s hard to go back and visit” she sighed to herself and looked down at the table wondering if she would even go back if she did have the chance, would she even have anything worth going back too? She shook her head a little again to move the peace of hair that was falling in her face. She looked back up at Steven and smiled “You would think so but I have no sense of direction. I’m a typical blonde” she giggled “This should have been natural” she joked pulling on a strand of her hair. It was true though, Lisa did have a lot of blonde moments.
Steven told her that he was a sports junkie and when he mentioned soccer she grinned. “I love soccer!” Lisa had always been a fan of football and the world cup was always her favourite event and she loved to watch her country play even if they had only won the world cup once 44 years ago. As a child she was a huge tom boy so much that her parents had always said she should have been a boy and she loved to play football with the other boys that lived in her street. “Any English teams you support?” she questioned.
Steven also mentioned that he enjoyed reading, the closest Lisa got to reading a book was the Argos catalogue which sold all sorts for the home and electrical equipment which were Lisa’s favourite pages as she always wanted the latest gadgets. It seemed that Steven loved computers too and Lisa was thinking how awesome it was that by chance she had ran into a guy who she had so much in common with... well other than reading stories of course. Lisa had just asked Steven what brought him to London when their food was called over and he told her to hold her thoughts, she smiled as he got up to get it and realised that she actually wasn’t smiling. She had a silly little grin on her face and couldn’t wipe it off because she was enjoying herself too much.
Steven sat back down with their food and handed Lisa her burger and she thanked him truly grateful for it and the time they were spending getting to know one another. As she took a bite of the burger Steven began to answer the question she had asked before they were interrupted. Lisa empathised with him as he told her that he never thought it would be so challenging. “I know where your coming from, I’m staying at a friend’s house at the moment which is a little over crowded and I don’t even have the money to help them out.” She too was trying to find a decent job and was living with the Davenports who were fantastic but Lisa was beginning to feel like a burden too. “All i want is a job so i can repay them for everything they have done for me and start saving to give them more space.”
Lisa took a bite of her burger as Steven then asked what her story was, she swallowed hard trying to think fast and not look awkward. What the hell could she tell him? “It’s not that much of a story really” she replied trying to stall. “But you’re not pushing” she smiled as a thought popped up into her head. “I met a guy and decided to move down here to be closer to him and well it didn’t work out... I didn’t want to go back home because of a disagreement id had with my parents before I left and have ended up staying with a brilliant family who basically took me in when I had nowhere else to go.” Lisa was quiet impressed with how fast she had actually thought of that but now the excitement and grin on her face had disappeared and she was left with a feeling of shame that she had lied to a guy who seemed so sincere.

Steve simply sat back and had a small smile on his face as he listened to Lisa explain herself, things she liked and stuff of that sort. He just enjoyed having another soul to sit back and chat with, and at that, as a bonus, she was a good looking young woman."I wonder what she's thinking about me at the moment..." He thought to himself. A glint of happiness could be seen in his serene blue eyes as Steven put his head in his hands and grinned at Lisa, now setting himself to respond to some of her questions. "4 hours North huh? That is quite a hike without transportation..." Steven muttered, sighing slightly to show that he shared her frustration in the matter, showing that he was indeed genuinely interested in this conversation. The next moment however, the boy couldn't help but chuckle when she labeled herself with having blonde moments. "Hey, hey...Don't say that, everyone has their off days." He said with a small chuckle. As he watched her mess with her hair, Steven took a drink of his soda and cleared his throat. "Really?!? You like the real football then?" Steven asked, slightly surprised by the reaction that Lisa had towards his admittance of his love of the game. Sure, he had his romance with sports, with American Sports like Baseball and Football, but when it came to endurance and speed being top priority, Soccer was the one sport that he loved to take part in, and as a Forward, he was quick, had a lot of moves, and could put the ball into the back of the net when he was on. So at hearing her reaction, it didn't shock him when she asked if he supported any English teams. "Well, as a matter of fact, I am a huge fan of Manchester United, the Red Devils..." He said with a small grin. "I have Wayne Rooney's autograph...that man is amazing with the ball at his feet, and an artist when it comes to putting the ball in the net." Steven said with a smile. "I've never seen Old Trafford...but I'll get over there sometime I'm sure." Steve nodded as Lisa began explaining to him that she too was looking for a decent job to help out her friends that were helping her out, albeit the place was slightly crowded. "Thats cool that your friends are helping you out, I'm sure you'll find a decent place to work and that you'll repay them." He muttered. "All it takes is a little time and some luck and you'll get back on your feet, you look like someone who can get through the rough times." He said with a small grin. Steven felt happy to compliment the girl and was having fun doing so, it made him forget about dreading his own problems at hand. Listening to Lisa's story about what she was doing in London, Steven had a concerned look on his face when she told him about some guy that she cared for and how she moved closer to him, all for nothing as the relationship apparently didn't work out. "Aww man, I'm so sorry to hear about the relationship, but its good that you have such good friends to help you when you're down, such a shame for that guy though...letting such a good looking woman such as yourself get away from him." He said with a grin. Sipping at his drink thoughtlessly, Steven simply sat back and blinked slightly as he looked at the table, thinking slightly to himself about what he was going to do next, and as he retained his thoughts, a big grin came across his face. "You know, you're the first person I've really been able to actually talk to in this place, its kinda weird...all these people, but no communication between a lot of them." He said, chuckling slightly as he shook his head, trying to think of what else to go on about as he couldn't help but look at her face.

This has gone on so long I realize that I need, Something good to rely on... Lisa giggled as Steven defended her as she tormented herself about her hair. He was too sweet and wouldn’t be defending her once he got too know her better. Well Lisa hoped they were going to get to know each other better; she was having good thoughts about Steven. She couldn’t help but shake off the feeling that she was attracted to him. His personality wasn’t the type she would go for, Lisa always liked a bad boy but boy did Steven have that look and she had thought for a while that it might be good for her to go for a guy that was sweet and kind instead of twisted and mean.
She nodded along grinning at the surprised look on Stevens face when she told him she liked football and her grin became even huger once he told her he was a fan of Manchester United. Lisa had loved Manchester United since the age of five. Watching every match and learning the history of the team was something she had enjoyed all throughout her childhood. “Wayne Rooney does have talent but a bit of a temper to go with it. Ryan Giggs is my personal favourite, he may be getting on but he still has his stamina and talent. ” Steven also told her that he would love to see old Trafford and that was something she had experienced as a child. “It is as amazing as it looks” she smiled thinking back to when her father had took her.
She nodded along with a mouthful of burger as Steven spoke loving how understanding he seemed to be at the fact she wanted a job and to repay her friends. “They have been so good to me” she replied covering her mouth and swallowing her burger. She took a sip of her drink and chuckled as he said that all it would take is a bit of time and luck “Luck is something I don’t seem to have anymore” she sighed but then Steven complimented her again and she couldn’t help feel the smile that was dropping off her face spring back up. “I do get through the rough times” she nodded “In life you have too, if I didn’t I don’t think I’d be where I am now.”
Lisa absolutely hated lying especially to someone that she thought she could maybe become close too and usually she wasn’t any good at it but she had to make this seem convincing or she could mess up everything with Steven and that would be goodbye to a friend that when she was with she could forget about the supernatural world. “Yeh my friends are amazing” she agreed not wanting to talk about the supposed guy she had made up; and then Steven was giving her compliments again and Lisa couldn’t help suppress the huge grin when he said that she was good looking. “A shame for him but good for me” she replied twiddling with the straw poking out the top of her drink.
Lisa finished off her burger as Steven spoke again. She really did enjoy it and never realised how hungry she actually was until now. Sipping on her drink she understood exactly what Steven meant and stopped to speak back “I think everyone just likes to go about their own business in this town. Me not knowing anyone though I’m just dying to meet new people but it is hard.” she shuffled about in her chair getting more comfortable. “I have to admit that I am really enjoying myself” she smiled sincerely. It was true she was having a great time and was feeling so relaxed around Steven that she felt like she had known him for a while.

Steven couldn't help but smile brightly at Lisa as she listened to him, and now it was his turn to listen and again, attentively he listened and nodded before responding to her questions. There was just something about this woman that intrigued him, whether it be her hair, her personality or her apparent toughness, he was becoming slightly attached to her, simply enjoying the time they were spending together. As for his looks, he wondered what Lisa thought of him, at least he wasn't as worried since she approved of his clothes.
It was going to be interesting discussing football with a die hard fan of Man U, but he was glad that Lisa agreed on his choice of teams, slightly relieved she didn't like Chelsea or Arsenal or some other team that was a rival. "Yeah, Giggs is a solid footballer, he definitely can still hang with the best." Steven said, nodding in agreeance. "But on the other hand, Wayne needs to play with that temper a little more, sometimes he gets too arrogant on the pitch." He added, sighing a little. Steven nodded, still grinning brightly as she explained to him that Old Trafford was amazing.
Steven sighed slightly, wishing he knew that feeling, of having good friends. It was a little hard for the werewolf to make friends, let alone really believe in people, but it was Lisa who was beginning to break through that barrier and he really wanted to get to know her better, well, at least when he got an apartment and a job, as it would be hard to explain how he actually lived under a tree in the graveyard. "Oh come on Lisa, Luck changes...its weird sometimes, but something is bound to go your way sooner or later." Steven muttered. He simply nodded however when she explained that she had indeed made it through rough times and wouldn't be here if she hadn't. "Rough times make everyday life a breeze once you get through them, thats for sure."
Steven took a moment and thought about the story that Lisa had told him. "Who the heck would blow their chance with a girl like her?? Thats just crazy..." He thought to himself. The werewolf was slowly but surely lost in conversation and lost track of time, not that he was supposed to be anywhere at a certain time, but it just showed that he was indeed interested in Lisa. "Yep, they sound that way...your friends." He added with a small chuckle.
Seeing the girl mess with her straw, Steven couldn't help but chuckle lowly, seeing that she was a little bashful or something to that matter. "I agree totally Lisa, it is very hard meeting new people, but I'm enjoying this as well." Steve said with a slight grin. He only hoped that maybe she would want to do something again with him.

This has gone on so long I realize that I need, Something good to rely on... Most guys were usually shocked when Lisa told them she too had an interest in football and loved Manchester united but Steven didn’t seem fazed by it. “Yeh he does” she agreed with his comments on how Wayne Rooney had a temper and was a little too arrogant on the pitch sometimes. She took the last sip of her drink and frowned slightly as it was a good reason for them to stay at the table where she could chat to Steven. Time was passing by but she did not care, she was enjoying every minute chatting to Steven.
She put her head in her hands and continued to listen each time he spoke loving the calm relaxing feeling his voice gave her. She looked up at him as she told him she never really had much luck and again he was reassuring her that things had to go her way at one point. “Your the first person that’s told me that and I’ve actually believed it” she smiled. Everyone had been telling her that she would eventually find a job and have a change of luck but no one had said it the way Steven had. “Everyone’s been telling me it but no one’s said it in that sense, I guess all I can do is keep trying though.” she finished realising that she had got through rough times and now they didn’t seem so bad.
Lisa couldn’t help but hope that this wouldn’t be the first and last time she would be around Steven; he seemed so genuine and made her feel at ease around him, she just hated the fact she was having to lie about why she was in London to him. As he agreed with her she couldn’t stop herself from saying aloud “Well I hope this isn’t the last time we meet” and went a little red wondering if it was obvious that she was beginning to have a little bit of a crush on this guy she had just met. Steven looked on as Lisa seemed to see his way on the football matter, as the two finished up their conversation on Rooney and simply smiled, looking at her eyes for a moment before looking at the table. He kept his eyes down for a few moments to finish his drink as well, and looked to Lisa again as he'd collected his thoughts after doing so."Maybe if we meet up again, I'll have to show you some tricks with the soccer ball sometime..." Steven said with a small chuckle, sincerely looking at her with his soft. blue eyes.
Steven couldn't help but smile lightly as Lisa told him that she actually believed him when he told her that her luck would turn around. "Mmhmm, thats life for you, always testing you and sending curveballs at you when you least expect it, but like I said, things work out and life moves on, its all a matter of how you manage to keep weathering the storm." He explained and then chuckled. "I was too bullheaded to listen to that at first myself, but my dad told me that...I believe it now." Steven muttered.
As soon as he realized that the two were running short on time and discussion material, the werewolf's mind starting screaming that he wanted to see the female again, he prayed that this wouldn't be the last time that the two would run into each other again, and wanted to have more time around her, to get to know her better. Lisa seemed to have so much in common with him, seeming like the only woman who understood where he was coming from in this world, even if she didn't know the real him.
"I know what you mean...I enjoyed talking with you Lisa, well...if you'd like, I could give you my number, maybe we could swap numbers?" He asked, raising an eyebrow in question, hoping that she didn't think he came on too strong with the question. "If not, I understand..." Steven muttered. This has gone on so long I realize that I need, Something good to rely on... As Steven looked into her eyes Lisa smiled and quickly looked down at the table, looking back up at him she noted that he had done the same and seemed to be thinking of what to say next. She too was struggling for words and shuffled awkwardly in her seat wondering if Steven would want to see her again. Before she could think about how to ask him though he had already made a suggestion about teaching her some football tricks next time they meet up. “I’d like that” she smiled “But I bet there’s a few tricks I could teach you too” she replied her smile turning into a grin as Steven chuckled.
Lisa could tell from the way Steven spoke that he was experienced in life, the way he spoke showed it and Lisa trusted that he knew what he was on about. As he explained she nodded along and smiled. “Life’s a bitch” she sighed once Steven had finished. Life truly had been a bitch to Lisa but she couldn’t deny that she was enjoying the ride.
It seemed they had ran out of things to talk about and Lisa looked down at the table not wanting to look awkward as Steven told her that he had enjoyed talking to her and then when he asked if he could give her his number she looked back up and grinned again before pulling out her phone. “Of course, I’ll give you mine too... if you want” she added not trying to sound too eager. Steven peeked quickly up from the table with a slight grin as Lisa had indeed agreed to see him again. As she had mentioned this, a wave of relief washed over the werewolf and he seemed to seem less nervous and tense about how she thought about him. "Hey, there's always someone out there who is better at something, maybe you can surprise me." He said with a smile as Lisa mentioned showing him some tricks with a soccer ball. "I'm willing to learn too, don't forget that." He said with a chuckle.
Steven, in his own mind, thought he understood how to help others feel a little better about themselves, whether it was through a funny joke or a few words of encouragement, considering what he'd been through coping with his curse, it was at least somewhat true that many people were better off than he. As Lisa summed it all up in one statement, Steve couldn't help but nod and laugh. "I couldn't have said that any better Lisa...honestly..."
As it seemed that the two started to slow down on their conversation, Steven mentioned swapping numbers and pulled his cell phone out as well. "Well of course, I'd like that." He said lowly, nodding and stating his number out to her to enter in the phone. "Alright, I'm ready for your number." He said with a grin, entering her name and passing the phone for her to enter the number. "You're probably quicker with it than I am..." He muttered, flipping the keyboard open for her as he passed the phone to her.Tag: LISA MADISON HALLAMMusic: Thunderstruck - AC/DC Comments: Sure, that sounds fine with me!!
